HOW-TO Set Up Your Own BLOG and RSS Feed In Less Than 5 Minutes... - Web 2.0 - RSS

I have a quick question to ask you... "do you know How-To set up your own BLOG and RSS Feed so you Too can take advantage of all the benefits Blogs and RSS(Real Simple Syndication) have to offer you and your business?"

If you answered NO, your not alone.

I didn't either at one time, but that didn't stop me from finding out How-To on my own.

So basically, what I'm trying to say is by the time you finish reading this article you'll be a master at setting up your own Blogs and RSS Feeds in a matter of minutes by simply following my simple 'Step-by-Step' instructions below.

With that said, Buckle Up, put your thinking cap on, grab yourself a beverage and get ready to learn...

"HOW-TO Set Up Your Own BLOG and RSS Feed In Less Than 5 Minutes..."

Know lets go to Step #1.

Step #1. Go set-up an account with Blogger.com.

This is probably the easiest part of all, which is simply setting up an Blogger.com account at

Go there right now. It will take you to Blogger.com's homepage.

Once there, you'll see an orange arrow pointing to the right that says..."Create Your Blog Now"... click on it.

That's Step #1.

Step #2. Creating your account with Blogger.com.

If you thought Step #1 was easy than Step #2 will be a breeze.

Simply select a Username and Password that you'll remember followed by your Email Address.(You don't have to use your primary email address, you can use a Free web-based email account like Hotmail or Yahoo! if you like. Your choice.)

Then check the box that says "I accept the Terms of Service".

Now proceed by clicking on the orange arrow that says... "Continue".

That's Step #2.

Step #3. Naming your Blog.(Very IMPORTANT!)

Now, depending on what your Blog is about your going to want to use your target 'Keywords' within the name of your Blog, its description and the URL.

And there's a good reason for this simply because this is what the Search Engine spiders are going to see first.

They'll first see them within your Blog name which is at the top of your Blog that your visitors see, they'll see them within your description of your Blog and then they'll see them within your Blog URL that you choose.

Why is this SOoooo important?

By using your 'Target Keywords' within those areas I just outlined, thats what the SE's will use to index your Blog under so when someone does a search for those target keywords, guess whose Blog will pop-up within the results depending on your competition?

That's right, Yours!

The SE's will also use those area's I outlined for your SE listing within there results index.

Here's an example for a quick 'Case-Study' for you.

This is one of my Blogs I have.

Go to:

You'll notice my Blog title, description and URL all have the 'Keyword Phrase'... Internet Marketing Tactic.

To take this a step further, I want you to go visit these search engines MSN, Yahoo! and AlltheWeb and type in "internet marketing tactics" within there search boxes so you can see where my Blog sits within those SE's so you can see the importance of having your Target keywords within those area's I mentioned earlier.

MSN

Yahoo!

AlltheWeb

In the MSN SE results my Blog is #1 for that keyword phrase, in Yahoo! I'm #11(not bad) and in AlltheWeb I'm #18.

Of course these positions will very in time but just as long as you get the point of WHY you need to use your Target keywords within those 3 areas.

Lets move on.

Now, your last step for Step #3 is to simply type in the 'Verification Code'.

Once you've done that, click on the orange arrow below that says... "Continue".

Step #4. Choosing your template.

If everything went well in Step #3 and that Blog name you chose isn't taken you should be looking at a bunch of Blog templates Blogger.com offers.

Simply select the one you like most and then click "Continue".

CONGRATULATIONS!

You just created your first Blog and completed Step #4.

You should now be looking at an orange arrow that says... "Start Posting". Click on it and it'll take you to where you can start posting whatever it is you want.

Now that you have set-up your Blog your probably wondering... "where does RSS fit into this formula?"

Step #5. Locating your RSS Feed URL.

What can I say, I always leave the Best for last.

Assuming your still within the Blogger.com 'Posting' area you'll notice a bunch of tabs at the top labelled, Posting, Settings, Template and View Blog.

Click on the 'Settings' tab.

This will take you to a sub-menu with a bunch of other options.

Out of all those options click on the one that says... "Site Feed".

And there it is.

It should look something like this:

/atom.xml

This is the URL you'll want to use to promote your RSS Feed with to the RSS search engines and directories so that everytime you make a post, the RSS SE's and directories will be 'Automatically' notified and updated with your latest information bringing your Blog more exposure to your target audience.

That about sums it up for this tutorial, but, just before I go I'll leave you with a few articles I wrote earlier on RSS promotion to help you get the Most out of your Blogs and RSS Feeds.

Here are the links:

/article_13.html

/article_14.html

/article_16.html

Now that you are armed with this information that I just revealed to you, you should have no problem setting up and getting the MOST out of your Blogs and RSS Feeds.

How to Create a Money Making Blog Empire in 30 Days - Web 2.0 - Blogs

'What would you do if you had to start your internet business from scratch with no money at all?' This is a question that often pops up on the message boards of affiliate marketing sites. It usually comes from newbies trying to figure out what works best and fast. And the same answer comes up from experienced internet gurus: Create money making blog empires!

Why are blog empires a perfect way for making money?

1. Blogs are easy to set up and manage:Maintaining a blog doesn't require programming and webdesign skills. You just register an account with a blogging service like Blogger.com, and you can start immediately posting messages.

2. There are no start-up costs:Blogging services like Blogger are absolutely free. You don't need to spend money on hosting and domain names. If you run 30-50 niche sites and pay a domain name for each, it's a huge sum of money. If you run 30-50 or hundreds of blogs, when using free bloggging services, it doesn't cost you a dime.

3. Blogs are indexed by search engines within days:One of the main problems that website owners have to overcome is getting into the search engines. With Google it can be an annoyingly long process (think of the Google sandbox effect). In the meantime, blogs are indexed much faster, usually within days, thanks to RSS feeds.

4. Blogs are a better way to promote affiliate products:This comes from the nature of blogs. Blogs are a series of subjective opinions written by everyday people. It is a well-known fact, that the best way to sell affiliate products is to write a sincere, positive review. Experienced internet gurus use this technique to rank in tens of thousands of dollars monthly. Word of mouth advertising is till one of the most effective methods to persuade people to buy something. A well written blog post can do this for you.

5. Blogs can be easily monetized by using Adsense:Contextual advertising is a popular way for webmasters to earn money without effort. With blogs it is the same. Just put a piece of code into your page's source and there you have it. Then wait for your visitors to click the ads. Even if you don't know much of HTML codes, you can benefit from displaying text ads. Blogger offers you to put Adsense ads on your blog's template, and you can do this from the Blogger menu with a few clicks, so no need to bother with HTML codes. It even offers you to match the color of ads with the colors of your blog's layout. It is called blending and it increases click through rates enormously.

Secret methods of creating money making blog empires fast

Method 1:The first method is to create blogs that concentrate on certain problems. In your posts first describe the problem, then offer a solution. This solution should be an affiliate product or service, that you promote. Most people use the internet to find information for solving a problem. For example, treatments for acne problems, solutions for money matters, where to rent a car on holidays, reliable softwares against viruses and spams, etc. This is where you can wirte about how you had the same problem and how this or that product solved it.

If you start 5 blogs a day, you will have 150 blogs at the end of the first month. Imagine how much money you can earn from this blog empire. And that would be just the first month. This method sounds simple and obvious but many affiliate bloggers do it wrong. There is a new way to do this successfully. You can read more about it in my blog: Blogging to the bank

Method 2:This is a less often used method. Use your blogs as online courses or online tutorials. Find a topic and start a series of posts like it's a series of lessons. Your fist post should be lesson 1, the second post should be lesson 2, and so on. Place affiliate links into your posts. You can also use these blogs for generating Adsense revenue. Keep the number of lessons between 10-20. If you don't like writing or don't know the subject well enough, go to free article directories. Pick 10-20 articles of your subject area and convert them into a series. That's all.

Start blogging today and in a month you will have a blog empire earning you a decent amount of money. For more information see my blog below.

Getting Keyword-rich Content for Your Website - Computers

A crucial part of getting your web site noticed by the search engines is having lots of fresh keyword-rich text content on your site. Fortunately, there are many efficient and affordable ways to add new content to your site. Here are just a few of them.

Hire a Ghostwriter

Hiring a ghostwriter to produce text content for your site will obviously incur costs that you won't have with free articles. However, with a paid ghostwriter, you can expect a higher level of quality in the writing, and also specify which keywords you would like to appear in an article. By publishing free articles on your site, you will be adding content that appears on dozens of other websites. With a ghostwriter, however, you can be sure that the content will be unique to your site, which something else search engines consider when ranking a site. Ghostwriters can be found by registering at or and posting a simple project outline. Writers will bid on your project, and you accept the writer with the qualifications and bid that best suits you. If you go to the trouble of hiring a ghostwriter, it is probably a good idea to get them to research and write a number of articles, rather than just one.

Keep a Blog

If you maintain a blog to give your site visitors news and information about updates to your site, it is important that you publish your blog on the same server as your site. Blogger.comis a free blogging service that allows you to host your blog on your site rather easily. You simply need to go through the "Advanced" set up when creating your blog and enter the ftp information for your site's server. If you already maintain a blog that is NOT hosted on your own site, you are wasting a valuable resource for SEO, as search engines do not recognize that keyword-rich content as part of your site. You should check the help section of your blogging service to learn how to republish it as part of your site.

As with an article archive, it is important to link to your blog from the main page of your site, or at least from one of the upper level pages, so search engines can easily find and spider your blog.

Many webmasters don't maintain a blog, simply because they do not know what to include in them. If you start an article archive as suggested above, you can use your blog to announce new articles. Rather then making a short post such as "go check out the new articles in our archive," include the article titles and the first line or two of text of each article with "read more..." or "continued..." linking to the full text in the article section. These is a simple trick for getting some of your keywords to appear in two place on your site.

Create a Forum on Your Site

A forum or bulletin board on your site will appeal to both search engines and human users. Search engines like forums because they are constantly being updated with fresh content. Human visitors will often return to sites with forums to ask questions, seek or give advice, or to make contact with other people with similar interests. As with keeping a blog, it is possible to maintain a forum either off or on your site's server, and it is very important that it appears on your server, with links to and from your main page. Again, this is so important as this is the only way that search engines can recognize all of that content as part of your site. Setting up a forum does require some technical skill, but it is not as difficult as you might think. PhpBB () offers free forum software with templates and set-up tutorials.

If you would like to add a forum to your site, but lack the technical skills, you can easily outsource the work through .

Getting Started With Your New Home Business - Business

I think the first thing to say is that whenever starting out in any new business venture there will be an initial amount to spend before the returns come in. With internet marketing, despite many scams, we need to focus exactly on what we intend to promote and in all cases we need a website to do this. Many web sites can be bought through an affiliate program the details of which are found on my websites.

One product in particular I ought to mention is the recently introduced program by Richard Legg. I am promoting these because he provides you with video tutorials on how to create your own website; even simple web pages can be effective in providing an income. However for the newbie who wants a web site pre installed and written the best one on the net has to be the one provided by Stone evans. His material is specifically designed for the new home business starter.

If buying a website is too expensive for now, then the blog pages at Google are Free, particularly the one known as 'Blogger'. There are many templates to choose from and in my opinion of high quality. Uploading stuff to is quite simple. I chose the colour scheme on my Message Board page to tie in with that on my blog page. This is always a good idea when promoting a theme through Affiliate Market Force.

As soon as we have, therefore a website/blog or both up and running, we need to promote that website. A good starter page to do this is found at / whereby you can get your webpage advertised for FREE. And not only that, they it will be advertised to over 1 000 000 Ezine users. How about that for starters?

I hope to be posting more tips here on a weekly basis so look out for my articles and why not join our discussion board the link as below through my blog page?

Make Money Blogging Online-your Blogging Guide - Other

Making money online by blogging is very possible if you have the knowledge or are willing to learn what you do not already know. There are a few steps to follow if you want to make money from blogging. If you do not already have a blog started, there are several websites available that offer free blogging, all that is necessary is that you sign up. There is no fee involved, and it is very simple. Blogger.com is one of the easiest free sites to use, and it has been around for over fifteen years. This free blogging site and others like it offer tutorials to get you started if you have never blogged before.

Once you have registered for the site you will need to set up your profile and templates. Once this is done you are ready to start making money. The first thing that you will need is traffic, and preferably targeted traffic. This means traffic that is interested in what you say on your blog. Getting this traffic can be done in a couple of different ways. One way is to comment on other blogs, and some readers will follow your comments back to your site. Make sure your posts reflect your blog interests, and try to respond, not just a two or three word phrase. If your comments are interesting and informative then you will get more targeted traffic.

Signature forum posts are another great way to get targeted traffic to your own blog website. If you already belong to one of these then you simply add your blog URL to your forum signature and then you post some comments. It is important not to spam, and to leave informative or interesting comments. Other members of these forums will want to hear more and they will come to your blog.

Once your blog starts to get targeted traffic then it is time to start making some money off of the blog. Adsense is a terrific way to do this. Open an account and once it is approved then choose the type of ad you wish to display on your blog. Once the ad is installed then you should start making some money in your adsense account. Affiliate programs are another way to make money with your blog, so it is a good idea to join some that share common interests with your own blog.

Making money by blogging is not hard if you know what to do. Start a blog on one of the free sites if you do not already have one. Then get some traffic to your blog, preferably targeted traffic. Put some ads on your blog from Adsense or another program that pays for advertising. Join some affiliate programs that share common interests with your blog. By following these tips, making money online by blogging is quick and easy.

How to Use Your Diary to Make Extra Cash in Your Spare Time - Business

I bet the title scared at least half of you. What would the world learn if you opened your diary and let them read it? Would it be the next best selling horror, romance or science fiction novel? Really, you don't have to answer that, and you really don't have to share that journal...unless you want to. The idea though, of using your diary with your computer is an easy way to make money online free.

Am I telling you to spill the inner most secrets of your diary and promote scandal and to help you make easy money online for free! Yes, I am. Your diary however is not paper and pen, it is your keyboard and your computer. And the book itself that you are writing in is really a program, a website called a blog. Unless you live in a cave you should have at least heard of a blog. Ok, fine I'll give you a definition, it is a weblog which is a journal that is frequently updated and intended for the general public. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.

The nice thing about blogs, is that they are free for you to have, own, author. Oh, the even better part is that you can make money with them. Blogs are the best way to make easy money online free. There places like blogspot.com, blogdrive.com, blogger.com and the list goes on. Join one of these free services they offer templates for you to set up your webpage, or blog and they offer somewhat of a tutorial to help you get started. You go in and create a post, daily preferably. What do you post about? Anything that you would like, telling a story, writing an article about something you are educated about, observations that you have made. The blog is going to reflect your interest.

You then place ads or links to different products and services on your blog, this is where you make money. Now you aren't selling anything. The links and ads are just there, you aren't out pushing products. All you are doing is keeping a web diary. You will use affiliate programs. What these are, are programs that various companies offer to help them cut promotion cost in exchange, you get to make a commission every time someone uses your link to buy what the company has to offer. All you do is place the link on your blog. The same goes for the ads that you can place. Do an internet search of affiliate programs and decide what one's you want to use. My word of caution here, don't just put any link or product on your site. Make sure it is for a good company and/or product, because you are staking your reputation on those ads. You want to be seen as credible. Unless the purpose of your blog is to expose every rip off out there. Then by all means, use any link. There isn't an easier way to make money online free.

To help with the advertising you can use Google AdSense. Blog sites such as blogger.com have in their templates the option of using Google AdSense. If you click this option, then Google places ads that are relevant to what you are writing about on the blog. People use those ads from your blog and then you make money from that. You would be silly to not let Google help you make money.

So the time is now, get ready to divulge those deep dark intriguing insights that you have bottled up, and put them out there on your blog and discover the easy way to make money online free. Yes do it, right now, I want to read it.

Attractive Enhancements For Your Blog - Web 2.0 - Blogs

Author: Ken Stevenson

Deciding on a blog design solution and implementing it is certainly a sound business decision and should reward the online web site owner with a vast amount of traffic as well as paying customers. Creating a blog is simple, painless, and easy to maintain. Popular blogging sites like WordPress and Blogger offer personalized services, numerous template designs, friendly search engine rankings, and helpful tutorials. Taking advantage of these opportunistic offerings should be a component of any successful online business venture. However, there is more to a blog than simply setting it up, performing routine maintenance, and providing periodic entries. Potential customers and visitors need to have good reasons for visiting your blog and remain as regular loyalists. Several enhancements to a blog can entice and deliver more web surfers when used effectively.

One enhancement that should be seriously considered is the use of video clips. Written text is obviously important and it's the cornerstone of any blog, but adding the occasional video clip can only serve to magnify an online web site's existence. Stephanie Collen, an online business marketer for a major clothing firm, describes the changes when video was introduced to the retailer's site. "Our site was text driven with many pictures and it seemed to be working effectively. When we added video clips to the mix, the results were amazing. A thirty-seven percent increase in traffic and sales rose by twenty-one percent. Video clips are here to stay at our site". Video supplies and software can be found at many places on the internet.

Another blogging business tip involves the use of audio clips and should be another feature for your blog. Collen also suggests using audio as an enhancement for your blog. "When we added video to the site, audio clips were phased out. Many customers complained and the audio section was restored much to their delight. We quickly learned that sound bites sell and never go out of style. It will continue to be a part of our marketing". Adding a few audio clips at opportune spaces on your blog will increase traffic flow and yield new customers. Audio equipment, supplies, and software can also be found at many places on the internet.

If the aforementioned enhancements are too much for your budget at this time, consider using pictures as a tool for driving more visitors to your site. Visual enhancements can sell far better than text only and is appealing to virtually every visitor. Also, if you have a blogging site such as 360 Blog Yahoo, Blogger, or WordPress, you can insert custom-made graphics. Graphics and photo editing software can easily be found with an internet search. Be sure to use the tools that meet your standards.

A blog design solution that incorporates stunning enhancements will make every blogging experience a rewarding endeavor. By using video, audio, and graphical improvements, your online business blog will witness a surge in visitors and customers.

Software To Create A Website - Computers

There is an ever growing list of software to create a website and the challenge is working out which is best for your needs.

They range from the super cheap and super simple up to the top end where you will spend several hundred dollars on a complicated yet very powerful piece of software to create a website.

Having been building websites for over a decde now, I'm going to take a look at some of these pieces of software to enable you to have a better idea of the best solution for you.

1) NVU

Nvu is freeware - which means you can download it safely and legally off the internet without paying a penny making this the cheapest software to create a website (though there are a few other free options we will be discussing here).

Nvu has proven very popular because whilst free it is quite a powerful piece of software and the learning curve going from never having used it before to creating quite a nice website is quite short.

2) FrontPage

FrontPage is Microsoft's attenpt at web design software and whilst it can be simple to use and comes with a range of features to make attractuve (if basic) websites, you must have a special web host in order to use this software.

In that way, while some people swear by it, others still try to avoid this software to create a website wherever possible as it limits your options when it comes to your web hosting account.

3) Dreamweaver

Dreamwevaer is the top of the range option as used by professional web designers the world over. I have to admit that I myself have a copy of this software and it is *amazing* to use. It's a case of being to do pretty much anything you like without limitations. You come up with a concept and next thing you know you're making it a reality.

On the flipside, even as an experienced web designer I found it quite a challenge to get comfortable using, and for the average website you may well be paying for features you never use.

So unless you're looking for software to build a website of the very highest quality I would consider the other options first.

4) Site Build It

Site Build It is a package deal of software and services which icnludes not just the facility to create a website but also to register a website address, make a logo, insert forms and sell products.

It is an ideal beginners solution as it offers everything you need in one handy place together with plenty of handy tutorials in video and text format to help teahc you everything you need to know.

However, as your skills and experience grow, you may find the limitations of this system too great as you try to add extra features just not allowed with Site Build It. It's also one of the most expensive options going.

5) Joomla

Joomla is just one example of what is known as Content Management Software for CMS. Generally this software to create a website is used in addition to one of the other pieces of software here like Front Page.

Pleasantly Joomla is free software and controls how your website functions. So you can use your other web design software to make an attractive template so your site *looks* how you want (or just download one of the free templates for Joomla) then use Joomla to make your site *do* what you want it to.

Joomla makes it reasonably easy to add advanced features like discussion forums, link directories, guest books and contact forms to your site with little technical knowledge. You can even automatically translate your website into dozens of other languages!

6) Blogger

The last piece of software to create a website that I want to look at today is Blogger, a free service from Google.

Blogger let's you choose from a range of different templates and sets you up with a free blog. You can go to nothing to having your own blog in a matter of minutes so it's another free, beginner option to consider.

Blogging - Tips For Starting Your First Blog - Web 2.0 - Blogs

So you'd like to start a blog but don't know where to begin? Here are some tips to start you on your merry blogging way.

1.Start with a free site such as Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, Blogspot.com or Livejournal.com. They're slightly different in how each one works/looks so it's worth checking them all out. Since they're free, you can easily sign up with all of them and decide which one suits you best.

2. Once you've signed up, pick a template that suits your "voice". Free blog sites offer a multitude of great templates so you don't even have to think about graphics, but you will want to make it fit with the content you plan on writing. So if you're a girlie girl talking about girlie stuff, you likely won't want a high-tech gamer type template for your blog.

3. What to write Some bloggers have a particular subject in mind, others simply report their daily events. If you want to build a following, it's best to concentrate on one main subject. This'll help search engines find you and create focus for what to write (because it can be difficult to come up with interesting entries sometimes). That said, within your general subject you're free to post about anything else going on in your life, but having a central theme will help you gain readership in the long run.

4. Try to keep current. Some people have enough rolling around in their heads to add a new entry every day, while some post once a week or even more sporadically. My advice is to post at least once a week, otherwise your audience may forget about your blog, fabulous as it may be. And believe me, it's no fun seeing all those "Comments:0" underneath your posts.

That's it for this installment. Next time we'll talk about how to get readers to find your blog and ways to promote it. Until then, happy writing!
